Parliamentary Probe into Nakivubo Channel Project Halted by Speaker Among

A parliamentary probe by the Committee on Commissions, Statutory Authorities, and State Enterprises (COSASE) into the Nakivubo Channel redevelopment has been halted by Speaker Anita Among.
She has appointed a new five-member select team to take over the investigation.
The decision was announced as COSASE was preparing to question businessman Hamis Kiggundu over the controversial project.
Kampala leaders, including Lord Mayor Erias Lukwago, immediately criticized the move, with Lukwago calling it a “choreographed move” to protect Kiggundu’s interests.
The new team will now lead the inquiry, and its findings are expected to shape the future of the contentious project.
