EXPOSED: The Secret Meeting Between Ssegirinya, Ssewanyana, and the President

A close statehouse source has disclosed details of a clandestine meeting between the late Hon. Muhammad Ssegirinya, his co-accused Hon. Allan Ssewanyana, and President Yoweri Museveni.

The meeting, facilitated by Speaker of Parliament Anita Among, allegedly took place under the cover of darkness at State House.

Ssegirinya and Ssewanyana, both Members of Parliament for Kawempe North and Makindye West respectively, were in detention at Kitalya Maximum Security Prison following their arrest in 2021.

The lawmakers faced serious charges, including murder and terrorism, in connection to the Masaka bijambiya killings—a spate of brutal machete attacks that left dozens dead.

Sources intimate with the developments claim that Speaker Anita Among personally drove the two MPs from Kitalya to State House, where they were ushered into a private meeting with the President.

The meeting, described as intense and confidential, allegedly saw the two lawmakers admit to their roles in a wider scheme orchestrated by opposition leaders.

According to insiders, Ssegirinya and Ssewanyana confessed to being pawns in a plan masterminded by opposition politician Robert Kyagulanyi, popularly known as Bobi Wine, and Dr. Aggrey Kiyingi, a controversial figure then exiled in Australia.

The lawmakers reportedly revealed that they were instructed to mobilize groups of attackers—infamously known as the “bijambiya men”—to sow chaos in Masaka and other parts of the country.

The MPs allegedly provided detailed accounts of how operations were planned and executed, including recruitment strategies and funding channels.

They claimed the intention was to create fear and undermine government stability, portraying the country as being on the brink of collapse under Museveni’s leadership.

The revelations, however, came at a cost. After the meeting, both Ssegirinya and Ssewanyana signed a confidentiality agreement, barring them from ever speaking publicly about their ordeal or the information they divulged.

This pact, sources suggest, explains their silence even after being granted bail in 2023, a release that many had celebrated as a victory for justice.

Following the meeting, Speaker Among reportedly drove Ssegirinya to his mother’s home, ensuring he reunited with his family.

Allan Ssewanyana was discreetly returned to his residence, leaving behind a trail of unanswered questions.

Sources revealed to us that the grand plans to distabilise the country went cold after Dr. Aggrey Kiyingi died later after the MPs confessed. His passing marked the end of a key chapter in the alleged plot.

Ssegirinya succumbed to health complications in January 2025 after years of battling while Allan Ssewanyana has remained tight-lipped, adhering to the confidentiality agreement reportedly signed at State House.
